How does Welding Simulator score your welds?
Ice Panda Studios’ Roblox description tells players to “Earn an A on every weld!” (game metadata, 2026-10-19). In the videos we watched, after MIG (and other modes in later clips), you run a Finish and check or Finish + Inspect action, then a Weld Inspection panel prints a letter grade and a numeric score out of 100.
This guide explains what we saw on screen plus Roblox badge text. It does not publish cutoffs for A, B, or C letters, because those thresholds never appeared in first-party APIs.
When does the inspection screen appear?
In Jacob Jordan’s October 16, 2026 video, the flow is: complete the joint, raise the helmet, choose Finish and check, then read the inspection modal (about 4:02). An earlier frame shows Joint complete — press F to inspect your weld at the bottom of the booth UI (about 3:58 in the same session).
Frame from Jacob Jordan’s “Real WELDER tries Welding Simulator” (YouTube, October 16, 2026), 3:58. Cropped to remove a picture-in-picture camera feed.
Stick and TIG grading were not fully walked through in the videos we watched; this page focuses on inspection UI confirmed in MIG segments. See /guides/mig-welding-guide/ for the controls that feed those scores.
What letter and number grades did footage show?
Both main videos display letter grades alongside /100 scores:
| When we saw it | Example on screen |
|---|---|
| October 16, 2026, about 2:15 | A, 96/100 PASSED |
| October 19, 2026, about 1:30 | A, 95/100 PASSED |
| October 16, 2026, about 4:02 | A, 86/100 PASSED |
Those examples prove the game outputs both a letter and a centesimal score. They do not tell you which numeric score equals B or C.
On the practice coupon UI in Jacob Jordan’s October 16, 2026 video (same session as the helmet prompt), the card shows on-screen text 70+ to pass beside the payout line. We treat that as wording on that practice coupon only, not as a global rule for every job or for Roblox badge requirements.
Which metric bars appear on the inspection card?
| Video and timing | Labels shown on the inspection card |
|---|---|
| Jacob Jordan, 2026-10-16, about 4:02 (exported frame) | Joint coverage, Fusion / heat, Tracking, Consistency |
| Jacob Jordan, 2026-10-16, about 4:02–4:32 (subtitle wording of the same moment) | Melting, Heating, Tracking, Stability |
| Jacob Jordan, 2026-10-19, about 1:30 | Weld Speed, Weld Quality, Consistency |
| Jacob Jordan, 2026-10-19, about 2:00 | Travel Speed, Work Angle, Travel Angle |
The first two rows come from the same moment: the subtitles are machine-generated and likely misread the on-screen bars, so where they differ we trust the exported frame. The other rows are different clips, and they show different label sets for the same kind of feedback. We cannot tell whether the difference comes from job type, game version, or UI state, and we do not treat any one row as the authoritative metric list. Roblox has not published a master dictionary for these bars.

Which failure reasons show up in footage?
Jacob Jordan’s October 16, 2026 playthrough names several failure causes during retries (about 7:02–9:04):
- Melt-through (too much heat in one spot on thin plate).
- Undercut along the toe of the weld.
- Heavy spatter on the plate.
- Welding with the helmet up, flagged as arc flash / safety failure (about 9:04 narrative).
Those strings come from that video’s inspection notes and subtitles. We cannot map each failure string to a specific percentage bar without guesswork.
For technique that avoids zigzag paths and uneven travel, see /guides/mig-welding-guide/. For booth setup (helmet H key), see /guides/beginner-guide/.
How do Roblox badges relate to letter grades?
Roblox badge descriptions (API read 2026-10-19) state:
| Badge | Official requirement | Awards (2026-10-19 snapshot) |
|---|---|---|
| Welcome to the Shop! | Join the game | 400,983 |
| Certified Welder | First weld C or better | 289,606 |
| Skilled Welder | Earn a B-grade weld | 261,153 |
| Master Welder | Earn a perfect A weld | 221,671 |
Inferred (not published by Ice Panda): dividing Master Welder awards by Welcome awards on that date gives 221,671 ÷ 400,983 ≈ 0.55, or about 55% of tracked joins earning a perfect-A badge. Award totals move every day; do not treat the ratio as a permanent difficulty score.
Badges reward milestones, not every job payout. The Steady Hands game pass official description states your torch wobbles way less, welds come out straighter and cleaner, and better welds = better grades = more cash (Roblox product-info, 2026-10-19). We have not tested that pass ourselves; see /items/game-passes/ for the full pass list.
What should you do after reading your grade?
Footage buttons on the inspection modal include Weld it again, Job board, and Leave booth (October 16, 2026 4:02 frame). Successful runs also displayed New job unlocked lines (example: Sheet Metal Lap after the 86/100 coupon).
We cannot verify whether every job still unlocks sequentially after the October 18, 2026 Stick and TIG update. If your board differs, trust your on-screen Job Board text over this wiki.
No verified promo codes change grades; /codes/welding-simulator-codes/ remains empty (2026-10-19). Official helmet descriptions focus on cosmetics; we have no evidence that helmet choice changes weld scores (/items/all-helmets/ notes the same gap).
